Brammer Chapel

Brammer Chapel redevelopment underway

Trinity’s fifth floor is under construction as contractors begin work on a project to redevelop the Campus Center’s top floor into a dynamic space for worship and art. Much of the campus center was renovated when the college relocated to Everett in 2008, but the fifth floor was left open to potential tenants. Recent enrollment growth has made the extra space necessary. The new chapel will be complete the first week in March, and students will gather together on March 7, 2012 to celebrate their first chapel service in the renovated space.

George and Jackie Brammer, farmers and residents of north central Idaho, gifted the college $700,000 toward the project. The chapel will be named for George’s parents, the late Otto and Goldia Brammer, who exemplified lives of service to the church and its outreach.

The gift supports both spiritual formation and digital literacy, key areas emphasized in the college’s strategic plan, adopted earlier this year. The project will serve as a tangible expression of Trinity’s desire to integrate visual art, music, and worship.

With the worship space at its center, the new chapel design also includes areas for students to engage in musical composition, painting, and graphic design.

"Young Christians today care about spoken and written ideas, but they increasingly resonate with expressions of faith through art, symbol, and sound," said the Rev. Erik Samuelson, Campus Pastor and Director of Spiritual & Vocational Formation.

The project’s architects are Designs Northwest Architects of Stanwood, WA. Kirtley Cole Associates of Everett (who completed the Campus Center renovation in 2008) will serve as general contractors.
